Click fraud happens when clicks on ads are made by bots or non-human sources—not real people. These fake clicks can waste your budget, lower your campaign performance, and give you a false sense of success.
But click fraud isn’t just about bots. On mobile, accidental or non-intended clicks (like someone tapping the wrong part of the screen) are also common and can harm campaign results.
That’s why Targetoo takes click quality seriously and has multiple systems in place to detect and prevent fraud.
What Targetoo Is Doing to Fight Click Fraud
Here are some of the key measures we’ve put in place:
1. One-Time, Encrypted URLs
We generate unique, one-use-only encrypted URLs for each click and impression.
This makes it nearly impossible for fraudsters to simulate fake clicks or call our tracking endpoints manually.
2. Duplicate Click Detection
We automatically detect and block duplicate clicks so you don’t pay for the same user clicking multiple times in a short window.
3. Post-Click Cooldown
By default, campaigns are configured not to show a new ad to a user for one hour after they click.
This reduces accidental repeated clicks and gives the user time to engage meaningfully with your brand.
