Create and Enrich Audiences through Dynamic Audience Pixels with Targetoo

Building high-quality audiences is essential for precise targeting and campaign efficiency. With Targetoo, you can create and enrich audiences in real-time using Dynamic Audience Pixels, helping you reach users across their journey with reliable first-party data.

What Are Audience Pixels?

An Audience Pixel is a small snippet of code placed within a website. When a user visits that site, the pixel fires and captures their identifier, adding them to a specific audience.

These pixels use the Targetoo ID—a proprietary identifier generated from a user’s IP address and user agent, validated for uniqueness. If a native ID (like IDFA or GAID) is available, it’s collected. Otherwise, the Targetoo ID is stored, ensuring broad reach across traffic types.

How It Works

Once you create a new audience in Targetoo, an Audience Pixel URL is automatically generated for you. This URL is uniquely linked to that audience. Every time the pixel is triggered (for example, when someone visits the page where the pixel is embedded), the system captures the user ID and adds it to the audience.

Example Pixel URL:

https://3ma79ae7cua.com/beacon?org=123456789&id=9459435848385003456642&udid=ToBeFilledWith_IDFA_or_GAID

Pixel Parameters:

  • org=X: Your Targetoo organization ID.

  • id=Y: The audience ID you want to populate.

  • udid=: Placeholder to insert a user ID (e.g., IDFA, GAID, or other macros supported).

Can You Capture IPs?

Yes. If needed, you can capture IP addresses instead of relying on the native or Targetoo ID. Just append the following parameter to the pixel URL:

&saveip=true

Example with IP recording:

https://3ma79ae7cua.com/beacon?org=123456789&id=9459435848385003456642&udid=ToBeFilledWith_IDFA_or_GAID&saveip=true

Use Cases

  • Retargeting: Re-engage users who visited key pages.

  • Lookalike Modeling: Create new segments based on enriched audience behavior.

  • Cross-device Targeting: Reach users on mobile, desktop, and CTV based on a unified ID.

Final Notes

  • Pixels respect user privacy and are GDPR-compliant.

  • Only WiFi traffic will employ Targetoo IDs (mobile data traffic is excluded).

  • Use descriptive names for audiences to manage them effectively in reports.
